Addressed to the main discussion and wget-notify lists.
So, as those of you subscribed to wget-notify are no doubt aware, that
list doesn't get commit notices anymore, since the abandonment of
Subversion; just bug-change notifications.
I've been playing with enabling email notifications in the mainline/
repository, but to be honest I'm not sure how useful that really is.
I've been getting my updates on mainline and 1.11 via the handy RSS
feeds (yes, I get updates, even though I'm pretty much the only one who
actually pushes to 'em). That strikes me as the better long-term
solution: I hope to be able to give devs the ability to manage their own
repository spaces, as many as they need, and having commit notices from
all of them to a mailing list would obviously not be useful. The RSS
feeds would make for an easier way to pick-and-choose which repositories
you're interested in. Though, probably having email notifications of
newly created repositories would be handy...
OTOH, mainline/ _is_ probably the one repository everyone will have in
common, as something to watch, so perhaps it's still useful to have
commit notices on that...
Thoughts?
