Details:
When a host terminates a download connection prematurely, wget automatically
retries the remainder of the download. However, instead of appending the
remainder of the content to the original file, it is written to a new file.
This is a regression from 1.10.2, which correctly appended the resumed
download to the original file. Note also that aborting wget 1.11 manually
during a transfer and resuming with "-c" correctly appends to the original
file. It's just the automatic resumption on a lost host connection that
doesn't.
Workaround: combine the files containing the various pieces of the download.
See the attached file for a transcript. Produced by wget 1.11 under WinXP SP
2.
