$ echo $no_proxy
localhost,127.0.0.0/8,*.local,XXX.XXX.0.0/16,*.uni-XXX.de

$ echo $http_proxy
http://www-cache.....:3128/

doesn't work, wheras

$ echo $no_proxy
localhost,127.0.0.0/8,.local,XXX.XXX.0.0/16,.uni-XXX.de

does work. This means that removing * from the domains makes it work.

The problem is that afaik other programs work with the * in the domain.
